Khloe's Minnie Mouse Party

I had the pleasure of making Khloe's 2nd Birthday Cake this past weekend along with Minnie Mouse cupcakes, Minnie Cake pops, and Minnie Mouse sugar cookies. Khloe was one lucky girl! Her grandparents Justin and Norma Starr gave her a beautiful hot pink and zebra Minnie Mouse themed party. It was truly a girlie party with the hot pink and zebra table covers and Minnie Mouse centerpieces. Everything beautifully matched. Everywhere you looked you saw Minnie Mouse and pictures of Khloe.

Khloe's dessert table was absolutely beautiful!

I want to thank Khloe's parents Ashley and Chris along with her grandparents Justin and Norma Starr for allowing us to be a part of Khloe's 2nd Birthday. We hope you all enjoyed the sweets!

Monkey'n Around!

Our nephew celebrated his 2nd Birthday today with the cutest monkey ever...Curious George. This year he celebrated at The Little Gym in Pearland were the kids got to monkey around. From tumbling, to jumping, rolling and swinging around on monkey bars the kids had a fantastic time being a monkey themselves. Creating the monkey for his cake was a little challenging but in the end he turned out to be one cute little monkey just like our nephew!

The chocolate lollipops turned out great with the edible image of "George"
and coordinating tags to match the theme of the party.

We also made sugar cookies matching the colors used for the party.
"R" for Raul and the number "2" for his age.

When it came time to sing "Happy Birthday" he was ready to blow out
his candles.

Our sister-in-law Vanessa and our brother Raul did a great job putting together Raul Daniel's 2nd birthday. We were honored to be a part of his birthday celebration. We look forward to the many birthday yet to come for our nephew.

   HAPPY BIRTHDAY RAULITO!
HOPE YOU HAD A GREAT BIRTHDAY!
  WE LOVE YOU LOTS!

First Wedding Cake

This weekend was a first for Give Me Some Sugar. We made and setup our first wedding cake. At the brides request we constructed three separate cakes to be displayed on individual pillars. The cake decorations were added to match her fall theme.

The bride and groom chose three different cake flavors for each of their cakes. The small cake which was also displayed the topper was red velvet. The middle cake was amaretto flavored and the largest of the cakes was the grooms favorite...carrot cake. All three cakes were iced with cream cheese icing.

It was such a great feeling to know that all the stress and hard work paided off.
Congratulations to The Jones' may you have a long and wonderful marriage together.
Thank You for trusting us with a FIRST!

Can You Tell Me How To Get To Sesame Street?

I received a request for the cutest Sesame Street cake several weeks ago. I started earlier in the week sculpting these two cute Sesame Street character you all know as Cookie Monster and Elmo.

The topper of the cake had the traditional sesame street sign customized with the birthday boy's name
Antonio

My sister helped out tremendously with these cute sugar cookies which were displayed in front of the cake. They pointed out the letter and number of the day.
The letter "A" for Antonio and the number "2"for his second birthday.

The entire club house was nicely decorated. Walking in felt as if you were walking right on to Sesame Street.  It was the cutest party setup I have seen. Each guest even got to take home their very own "Dorothy" goldfish.

Thanks Maribel for allowing us to create your son Antonio's second birthday cake and favors!

Big Top Circus

Today a very special girl celebrated her eighth birthday in a BIG way! Giselle celebrated with a circus theme party. She wanted a circus cake with a clown and a elephant. So earlier this week I got to work sculpting a clown ( girl of course) and a cute little elephant for the top of her cake. The final touches were to add a cute circus tent and pennant banners to fly above.

Giselle's mother did a great job with all her party favors. We helped out setting up and displaying her cake, cupcakes, lollipops and party favor so her guest can enjoy!

Welcome to Give Me Some Sugars' Blog

We would like to start our blog telling you a little about what we do. Give Me Some Sugar is a part-time home based business we established in December of 2011. Both my sister and I have been creating cakes, cupcakes, lollipops and more for over five years for family and friends. Only recently have we made our products available to the public. As many of you have seen on our Facebook page we offer a variety of sweet treats including: Cupcakes, Lollipops, Cakes, Hard Candy, Cake Pops, Chocolate covered Oreos and Pretzels and that is just to name a few. We also have extended our services to include custom cupcake towers, personalized bags, boxes, and tags, centerpieces and invitations (coming soon). So if you have a favorite color, character, or interest, special event, celebration or milestone coming up let us know what that something special is and we will do what we can to create one of a kind treats to help celebrate it. For those of you who have liked our Facebook page, please feel free to follow our blog and pass along our address. And for those of you that have not...What are you waiting for? Check it out!
